Jennifer Ruth Lyhane, age 64, long-time resident of Stillwater, Oklahoma died on Monday, June 17, 2024, in Oklahoma City. A memorial service will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at Highland Park United Methodist Church, in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Strode Funeral Home and Cremation is overseeing the arrangements.

Jennifer was born to Daniel and Ruth (Boucher) Lyhane on January 16, 1960, in Ponca City, Oklahoma. She graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 1983 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She was a registered nurse for over 30 years, trekking the country and caring for patients from North Carolina to Oregon to numerous locations in Oklahoma.

Her favorite times were spent with her family and friends, and she especially loved playing with her grandchildren.

She was an excellent seamstress and made beautiful quilts. In between sewing projects, she spent time hiking with friends, swimming, biking and gardening. Jennifer’s endless love for the mountains began at a young age, when she spent a summer working in the Colorado Rockies.

Jennifer was an active member of the Highland Park United Methodist Church where she served on the Leadership Council, played in the handbell choir, assisted with the church gardening, and numerous other activities.

She is preceded in death by her parents and brother Tommy Lyhane.

She is survived by her sons, Matthew Lyhane and John Sevier; grandchildren Julia Lyhane and Sterling Lyhane; brother Terry Lyhane and wife Lisa, nephew Patrick Lyhane and wife Sierra.

Family would like to thank the staff at Integris Baptist and the Stillwater Medical Center, Highland Park United Methodist Church and the many friends who helped and supported Jennifer.
