Valerie Huffer, instructional coach at West Middle School, and Jazmine Martinez, math teacher at West Middle School, have been named the 2022 West Middle School Teachers of the Year. Valerie has taught for 22 years. She came to Ponca City 15 years ago from Broken Arrow and has taught special education reading, mainstream reading, English and is now an instructional coach. She is pictured with her husband, Adam. Martinez has taught five years, the first two years in Wichita, Kan. She is currently the seventh grade Cougar math teacher and is pictured with her boyfriend, Jacob. Both were surprised with family, including parents, and were given a framed certificate, plant and a collection of their own “favorite things.” Congrats to Valerie and Jazmine.
