GEAR UP Ponca City because Ponca City High School Homecoming is right around the corner. Activities supporting homecoming are planned for this year's celebration Friday, Oct. 3. Activities will begin Monday, Sept. 29 at Ponca City High School including a parade held downtown on Thursday, Oct. 2 at 5:30 p.m. The 2014 Homecoming Queen has been selected by the Senior Class and will be announced at coronation. Sam Flowers, Student Council President, will crown the queen. Queen coronation will start at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 3 and the football match-up between the Po-Hi Wildcats and the Muskogee Roughers begins at 7 p.m. Members of the 2014 Homecoming Court are front from left, Flower presenters, Tatum Johnson, Tommie Beard, Erin Dempsey, Hannah Henley, Maddy Doornbos, Kristin Holle, Julia Hiatt and Claren McCormick. MELODIC SOUNDS filled the air at a recent school concert. Ponca City High School and Stillwater Public High School joined forces hosting the orchestra at Stillwater Performing Arts Center. Stillwater had 61 students participate and 59 of Ponca City's 65 Symphony Strings musicians made the trip. Combined there were 120 musicians participating.
