NEWKIRK — The Kay County Conservation District is planning to recognize farmers and ranchers who have proven to be good stewards of their natural resources at its Annual Awards Banquet on Thursday, March 30, 2017 at 6:30 p.m. at Kay Electric Cooperative, 300 West Doolin Avenue in Blackwell.
Cooperators of the district are invited to be the district’s guest at the catered banquet, but reservations are required.
Awards to be presented are the Governor’s Award, Conservation Awards, Range Management Award, and Partner in Conservation Award.
Awards for the student Poster Contest will be presented following the banquet. Scholarship winners sponsored by the Kay County Conservation District will be presented after the banquet as well.
There will be a special RSVP drawing for a three foot tall bear carved out of Eastern Red Cedar for those who call the Kay County Conservation District office, 580-362-2438, by March 23.
